Schlagwerk - IG210 Infinity Gong Moon

The Schlagwerk IG210 Infinity Moon Gong evokes the Moon’s subtle pull on the tides, a slow force that acts silently. Its frequency of 210.4 Hz reflects this lunar influence and serves as the foundation for the gong’s sound spectrum. After being struck, the fundamental and its harmonic spectrum resonate together; then the harmonics quickly fade, allowing the fundamental to dominate, before it begins to pulse like a rising tide.

The body of the gong combines brushed aluminium with tuned tubes and a smoked, oiled oak frame that supports them without touching them – a design that allows each tube to vibrate without transmitting its vibration to the wood. The 80 mm diameter gives the instrument its vertical silhouette, resting on natural felt feet that isolate the whole unit from the floor.

Used in meditation, sound therapy or music therapy, this gong creates a harmonising and soothing atmosphere, conducive to relaxation after a period of tension. The MA106 mallet, supplied as standard, provides the necessary impact to reveal the full spectrum from the very first strike.
