The Five-Two was originally designed for Nashville studio musicians who wanted a classic Telecaster pickup, capable of producing a softer attack on the high strings while retaining all the Tele's typical articulate snap on the low strings.
The mix of Alnico 2 and Alnico 5 magnets offers the best of both worlds:
Alnico 2 rods positioned under the G, B and E strings provide a smooth treble response, while Alnico 5 rods under the E, A and D bass strings contribute to a crisp, lively sound with enhanced mids and articulation.
This combination results in a well-balanced pickup that delivers all the accent and articulation of a great Telecaster, without any of the aggression.
The Five-Two neck pickup is RWRP (reverse wound and polarity), so when used with the bridge model, you get a smooth, buzz-free sound.
