Presentation
The Tama WBR52RZS-CCO Starclassic Walnut/Birch drum set features 5 drums designed to offer a clear balance between definition and depth. Tama combines 4 layers of birch and 2 layers of walnut on the toms and floors, for a thickness of 6 mm.
The 22 "x16" bass drum has an 8mm shell made of 5 layers of birch and 2 layers of walnut, with no integrated tom support to allow the drum to vibrate fully. This architecture highlights the precise attack of the birch, while the walnut reinforces the low midrange.
The 10 "x7" and 12 "x8" toms react quickly under the baton, with a clear rise in pitch. The 14 "x12" and 16 "x14" floors develop a full bass that can be used both in the studio and live. The Star-Cast suspension system limits direct contact with the barrel and preserves the natural resonance. Quick-Lock fasteners make for easy mounting and secure angle adjustments. Two MC69 brackets are included for rack-mounting toms.
Moulded hoops enhance tuning stability and provide a firmer feel when struck. The 22" configuration provides a bass drum with presence without excessive inertia underfoot. The overall response of the kit remains structured, with controlled sustain and legible projection in the mix.
The high-gloss Charcoal Onyx finish highlights the wood grain under stage lighting.
