The Tama WBS52RZS-LPO Starclassic Walnut/Birch drum kit is a 5-drum shell set designed for modern playing, both in the studio and on stage. Tama has created a 22", 10", 12", 14" and 16" configuration with hybrid walnut/birch drums and a Star-Cast system. It features thin shells, Quick-Lock fasteners and moulded hoops for stable, precise tuning.

The Tama WBS52RZS-LPO Starclassic Walnut/Birch drum kit is a 5-drum shell set designed for drummers looking for a clean response and a solid base in the lower midrange. Tama's hybrid walnut/birch construction is the result of extensive research into frequency balance.
The 22 "x16" bass drum uses an 8mm shell made of 5 layers of birch and 2 layers of walnut, with no integrated tom fastener to let the head vibrate freely. The 10 "x7" and 12 "x8" toms, as well as the 14 "x12" and 16 "x14" floors, rest on 6 mm drums made of 4 layers of birch and 2 layers of walnut.
This arrangement favours the frank attack typical of birch, with a denser bass provided by walnut. In live situations, the bass drum remains legible even at high volume, without losing any depth. In the studio, the toms react quickly under the microphones, with controlled decay and few intrusive frequencies.
The Star-Cast suspension system allows the toms to vibrate without direct stress on the shell. Quick-Lock fasteners speed assembly and facilitate precise tilt adjustments. Two MC69 brackets are included for mounting rack toms. Moulded circles enhance tuning stability and provide a firmer feel under the stick.
The high-gloss Lacquer Phantasm Oyster finish highlights the wood grain under stage lighting. This kit is for drummers who want a versatile set, capable of moving from rock to funk or pop, with a structured sound base that can be used immediately.
