Tangent's Spectrum II XC Black is a compact centre speaker designed for clear, perfectly intelligible dialogue, thanks to its 2-way bass-reflex architecture. It incorporates two 4" cellulose pulp bass-midrange drivers and a 25 mm dome tweeter, with 80 W RMS and 88 dB sensitivity for easy integration in home cinema. Tangent's Spectrum XC II Black plays a key role at the heart of a coherent, controlled home cinema system. At first glance, its satin black finish is in keeping with the aesthetic continuity of the Spectrum II range, making it easy to integrate elegantly under a screen or in a piece of technical furniture.
But it's when you listen to it that this centre speaker really comes into its own. Designed to carry dialogue and structure the front stage, it is based on a 1-inch dome tweeter combined with two 4-inch mid-bass drivers made of cellulose pulp, a choice that favours clear, articulate reproduction of voices.
Crossover at 2,300 Hz ensures a natural transition between registers, while the extended frequency response down to 55 Hz adds substance without encroaching on the role of the subwoofer. With a sensitivity of 88 dB and an impedance of 6 ohms, the Spectrum XC II Black is easy to match with amplifiers from 20 to 120 W.
In use, it stabilises the sound image, improves intelligibility and enhances the credibility of soundtracks, a real asset for any installation geared towards performance and balance.
