The Thorens TD 201 vinyl turntable is easy to use for everyday use. It features a belt drive system with a DC motor that allows the platter to rotate at speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, with a variation of +/- 2%. You can select the speed via a switch on the front of the turntable, on the left-hand side. The platter has a diameter of 30 cm and is made of die-cast aluminium.

The TD 201 has a phono preamp built into its chassis, allowing it to be connected to the line input of a stereo amp, hi-fi system or even a pair of wireless speakers that don't have a phono input.
The phono preamp can be disconnected, allowing you to connect it to the phono input of a stereo amp or to use an external phono preamp if you wish.
It's equipped with a new Thorens TP 71 tone arm, made from lightweight, vibration-damping aluminium tubing. The statically balanced straight arm ensures excellent groove tracking and noise-free sound reproduction.
It also features a graduated anti-skating adjustment at the base of the pivot and a cell holder compatible with all standard 1/2" mount phono cells weighing between 3.5 and 6 grams.
The TD 201 is supplied with a factory-fitted and adjusted Audio-Technica AT 3600 phono cell. This moving magnet (MM) cell features an elliptical diamond, allowing you to start listening to your vinyl records quickly once the turntable has been integrated into your system.
Of course, the Audio-Technica AT 3600 can be replaced by another phono cell compatible with the 1/2" mounting system.
