The Vandoren Optimum LC01BP ligature for Bb clarinets is designed for musicians who want to refine their playing sensation without modifying their mouthpiece. Designed in metal for ebonite mouthpieces, it holds the reed in place with precision while allowing the vibration to develop naturally. This stability is quickly felt in the instrument's response: attacks become more forthright and the sound remains well centred.

Its clamping system is based on a single double-pitch screw. In practical terms, the ligature closes symmetrically around the mouthpiece, distributing the pressure evenly over the reed. This technical detail avoids unnecessary tension and helps to maintain a freer vibration, and therefore a more natural timbre.

The special feature of the Optimum model is its set of three interchangeable brass plates. Each one slightly modifies the pressure on the reed: one favours precise articulation, another reinforces projection, and the last adds more suppleness and roundness. The plastic neck cover protects the set when the instrument is stored.
