The Vandoren M/O LC51GP ligature for Bb clarinets is based on a simple idea: keep the ligature light while ensuring a precise hold on the reed. Designed for ebonite mouthpieces, it takes certain principles from two well-known Vandoren models to offer a solution that is both compact and effective. Its lightweight structure makes it easy to fit and avoids weighing down the whole mouthpiece.
The ligature is tightened by a single double-threaded screw that closes symmetrically around the spout. This system allows the position of the reed to be adjusted quickly while maintaining balanced pressure. Installation is quick and simple, making it easy to find a stable setting.
The ligature rests on just two points of contact with the reed and uses reverse clamping. This design leaves more space for the reed to vibrate, contributing to cleaner articulation and accurate response in play. The plastic neck cover protects the whole assembly when the instrument is stored.
