Vic Firth - American Classic Extreme 5A Pure Grit

The Vic Firth American Classic X5A PureGrit drumsticks are designed to meet the needs of drummers looking for both the reach of the extended X5A profile and a completely natural feel. At 16.5” in length, they shift the balance point forwards, providing effective leverage and a greater sense of power compared to a standard 5A.

Their main advantage lies in the PureGrit finish, which leaves the wood untreated, without varnish or lacquer. This slightly grainy surface provides direct contact with the hand and improves grip by naturally absorbing perspiration whilst playing.

Made from selected American hickory, these sticks have a good density which helps absorb vibrations and reduce fatigue during repeated strikes. The medium-sized ferrule promotes smooth movement and a balanced response across the entire kit.

The teardrop-shaped wooden tip ensures precise attack and a warm, rich tone, particularly suited to playing on cymbals.
