Affectionately known as ‘Dédé’, André Ceccarelli is a legendary French drummer whose talent and versatility have extended far beyond the borders of France. Born in 1946 in Nice, he began his professional career at a very young age, initially making his mark in the world of pop (alongside Johnny Hallyday and Claude Nougaro) before becoming one of the indispensable pillars of modern jazz. His impressive CV features internationally renowned collaborations with giants such as Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Chick Corea and Dee Dee Bridgewater. A master of tempo and musicality, his unique style combines the technical rigour of American jazz with a typically European elegance and sensitivity.
