Johnny Lee Lane is one of the most influential marching percussion teachers and directors in the United States, widely recognised for his major role in the development of university marching band programmes. As a renowned educator and international clinician, he has trained generations of percussionists and conducted some of the country’s most respected ensembles. His strengths lie in his understanding of group dynamics, his technical rigour and his ability to make a snare drum section sound perfectly synchronised and acoustically powerful when performing outdoors. His contribution to percussion education has established him as a key figure on the American drum corps scene.
