The Vic Firth Signature Tommy Igoe STI pair of drumsticks was developed in collaboration with drummer and educator Tommy Igoe to suit a highly expressive musical approach.
From the moment you pick them up, their extended length combined with a long taper provides natural leverage that facilitates sweeping movements and control over your playing. This feel allows for a more fluid strike, whilst maintaining good control over dynamics.
Made from hickory, they offer the durability required for regular use. Their 0.555" diameter and 16.125" length create a balance geared towards fluidity and precision. The ‘Taj Mahal’-style olive is designed for subtle cymbal playing, with a refined response that allows for detailed nuances.
This model is aimed at drummers looking for a pair capable of keeping up with nuanced playing, offering good range and a natural sense of control in their movements.

Tommy Igoe is an American drummer renowned for his work across performance, musical direction and teaching. He began at a very young age in a musical environment and quickly developed a career as a professional musician, notably on tour and in the studio. He has collaborated with numerous international artists from the worlds of pop, jazz and soul, and has contributed to several Grammy Award-winning recordings.
He has also made a name for himself on stage and on Broadway, notably as a principal musician and assistant musical director on the production of *The Lion King*. At the same time, he has established himself as a prominent bandleader and educator, with projects such as the Birdland Big Band in New York and ensembles focused on improvisation and groove.
As the author of teaching methods widely used in the world of drumming, he is now recognised for his influence on the teaching of rhythm and ensemble playing.
