Zildjian’s history dates back to 1623, when Avedis Zildjian established his first cymbal workshop in Constantinople. The name Zildjian literally means ‘cymbal maker’ in Armenian. The brand remains a family-run business, now in its 15th generation. Its product range includes cymbals, drumsticks and mallets.
Zildjian has its own production sites in the United States: cymbals are manufactured in Norwell, Massachusetts, whilst drumsticks and mallets are produced in Newport, Maine. This family continuity is one of the most distinctive features of its identity.
