The Zildjian A Custom 14" Top clearly takes a brighter, more direct approach to the hi-hat. Where some of the K series seek depth and dark grain, the A Custom range plays a different card: a more open, brighter sound, with an immediate response under the stick. This is a cymbal designed to stand out cleanly in a mix, effortlessly.
In play, the touch is fine, with a light attack and a very fluid feel.
