Hi-hat Cymbal
Zildjian K-Series Light 15" Top is a wider hi-hat cymbal that delivers a deeper, more open sound than a 14". Its medium-thin B20 weight gives a supple response, with light harmonics and airier play. Perfect for nuanced jazz, pop or indie grooves, with a hi-hat that's less rigid and more lively.

Presentation
The Zildjian K-Series Light 15" Top is aimed at drummers who want to move away from an overly rigid hi-hat towards something softer and more lively under the sticks. This is a 15" top, wider than the standard 14", which immediately changes the feel and sound.
With its medium-thin weight and B20 alloy, this model develops a lighter, more fluid response. The sound naturally descends in pitch, with a dark colour typical of the K series, but with a wider, more 'airy' opening. This slightly 'sloshy' feel is quickly felt, especially when playing semi-open, with harmonics that breathe more without becoming overpowering.
The result is a hi-hat that's very pleasant to work with in terms of nuance. In jazz, neo-soul or modern pop, it adds texture and suppleness to the groove. In softer rock or indie, it can also be used to break down the overly sharp edge of a classic hi-hat, moving towards something broader and more musical.
This type of top works particularly well for drummers who like to play with openings, vary dynamics and let their playing breathe. It's less 'dry', less rigid, but much more expressive in its overall effect.
