Presentation
Zildjian has launched the Galaxy Practice Pad, a practice pad that stands out thanks to its multicoloured space-themed pattern printed across the entire surface – a far cry from the usual plain pads.
The black-stained MDF base withstands repeated stick strikes without warping. The non-slip rubber backing keeps the pad stable on a knee or table, without the need for a stand.
The responsive playing surface, printed in silicone, provides a rebound similar to that of a real drumhead with every strike. An 8 mm insert screws onto any cymbal stand for quick assembly, should you prefer stability on the floor.
Simple in design, this practice pad requires neither batteries nor a built-in metronome: all you need are two drumsticks. The Galaxy Practice Pad is available in 6" (152.40 mm) and 12" sizes, manufactured in China for Avedis Zildjian Company, and is aimed at beginner drummers who are just starting out.

Zildjian is one of the oldest companies in the world of percussion. Its history dates back to 1623, when Avedis Zildjian was granted permission to set up a cymbal foundry in Constantinople. The name Zildjian means ‘cymbal maker’ in Armenian. The company can now trace its history back through fifteen generations of the family. Its product range includes cymbals, drumsticks, mallets and drum accessories. In 2023, Zildjian celebrated four centuries of existence. This family continuity, combined with a long-standing specialisation in cymbals, has established the company as a leading name in the global music industry, spanning centuries and generations.
