Zoom - H5 Studio
The Zoom H5 Studio is an essential tool for recording impeccable sound in all conditions. It incorporates the preamplifiers of the F-series recorders, 32-bit floating-point analog-to-digital conversion, and dual recording capabilities to ensure a signal that can be used in post-production or is ready for broadcast. The device features a colorful LCD display that shows levels and waveforms in real time, while its RF envelope suppresses interference caused by smartphones and Wi-Fi routers. The XYH-5s capsule is capable of recording a wide dynamic range, while its modular system allows the use of the SSH-6e and EXH-6e capsules to enhance recordings. Its multitude of outputs and monitoring features make it incredibly effective in all circumstances.
Presentation
Thanks to its 32-bit floating-point recording, recordings can be used even without prior gain adjustment. However, for those who prefer to adjust their level upstream, dedicated potentiometers and predictive limiters allow for fine-tuning the recording.
During demanding recording sessions, its color LCD screen provides precise visualization of waveforms and levels, ensuring immediate control over the recording.
The Zoom H5 Studio also stands out for its interchangeable capsule system, designed to adapt to the needs of creators. It comes with the XYH-5s, a capsule equipped with two large-diaphragm microphones capable of handling up to 140 dB SPL. Like a true Swiss Army knife of sound, it can accommodate other capsules from the Zoom range, such as the SSH-6e for directional capture or the EXH-6e to add additional XLR/TRS inputs. This modularity offers valuable flexibility, whether recording a decibel-saturated concert or a detailed vocal take in the studio.
The H5 Studio doesn't stop there and offers comprehensive connectivity designed for all configurations. Its locking XLR/TRS combo inputs support +48V phantom power and handle both studio microphones and professional line signals. It also includes a 3.5mm mini-jack auxiliary input with PiP power for lavalier mics.
Its monitoring system is equally well thought-out, with a 3.5mm mini-jack TRS headphone output and a dedicated line output for connection to a camera or mixing console. During your recordings, a tone and recording start generator ensures precise synchronization with your external equipment.
