In a control room where the number of sources is constantly increasing, the challenge is not merely to have enough faders. It is also necessary to be able to determine where signals arrive, which outputs they are routed to, and how the different areas of the control room communicate with one another. The Oxygen 3000 Plus 16 Fader 2A offers a particularly flexible solution to this problem thanks to its two Audio I/O cards and its 50 × 50 digital routing matrix.

The configuration features 16 physical faders and can accommodate up to ten microphones with Automix. Each Audio I/O card provides five microphone inputs, with +48 V phantom power, dynamic processing and a 5-band parametric equaliser. The AutoFader and Ducking functions can also be used to automate the level ratios between different sources.

In terms of connections, the dual card provides four analogue stereo inputs, expandable to eight depending on how the other inputs are configured. Eight balanced analogue outputs are also available, alongside two AES/EBU inputs and two AES/EBU outputs. The console can accommodate up to four USB audio interfaces and two Bluetooth interfaces. Telephone communications are catered for with one or two integrated hybrids or Telco interfaces, depending on the chosen configuration.

Day-to-day work benefits from a layout designed to keep key information in plain view: each fader has its own 2.2-inch IPS TFT display, whilst a 7-inch main screen displays the configuration and general information. Eight Smartkeys, customisable function keys and snapshots allow you to quickly adapt the controls to different operating scenarios.

The console features independent monitoring for the control room and studio, talkback, audio streaming and a Gigabit network connection. Oxygen Remoter allows the control surface to be expanded with up to eight virtual faders, whilst the web interface supports remote configuration and maintenance.
