B&C Speakers - 12BG100 16 Ohm Push Buttons

The 16-ohm B&C 12BG100 has been designed for broadcast systems that require deep, powerful and controlled bass, while allowing real flexibility in amplification configurations. Its 16-ohm impedance makes it easy to combine in parallel, for series or multi-channel clusters.

Beneath its 12-inch format, it conceals a serious mechanical design: a 4-inch copper coil, carefully wound on a fibreglass support, with a winding height of 26.5 mm. This sturdy unit can easily handle 1000 W continuously, with thermal management facilitated by an 11 mm air gap and well thought-out ventilation around the motor.

What also stands out is its displacement capacity: ±11 mm of Xmax is more than enough to move a volume of air without saturation. Despite a moving mass of 164.3 g, the neodymium motor imposes effective control, reinforced by a BL of 18.38 T-m. The result is taut and precise, even when the level rises.

The cone is housed in a rigid, well-dimensioned aluminium bowl, and the suspension copes with muscular back-and-forth movements without flinching. There's also a demodulation ring to reduce distortion, particularly in the transition zones between bass and midrange.

With a useful response of 40 Hz to 1000 Hz and a low resonance frequency (38 Hz), it lends itself equally well to reflex and hybrid subwoofers, in volumes of around 41 litres. And despite its power and load capacity, it remains relatively compact, with a depth of 130 mm and a weight of 8.8 kg.
