B&C Speakers - 12BG100 4 Ohm Push Buttons

The 12BG100 in 4 ohm Push Buttons has been developed for those who need a lot of low-frequency energy, without falling into oversized formats.

This 12-inch driver is clearly aimed at compact subwoofers or bass-reflex speakers, where you expect a clean fall-off, clean travel and mechanical strength without weakness.

The motor is based on a 4-inch coil, with a copper winding on a fibreglass support, capable of handling 1000W continuously.

The whole unit is efficiently ventilated thanks to an optimised structure around the gap, and supported by a rigid aluminium bowl designed to withstand the thermal stresses of long sessions.

One of the major assets of this model is its ±11 mm Xmax, which allows for significant excursion without perceptible distortion. Combined with a moving mass of 164g and an adapted suspension, this configuration ensures a reactive response, while retaining depth. Behaviour remains stable even at low tuned loads, with a resonance frequency of 38 Hz and a bandwidth covering 40 to 1000 Hz.

The 4 ohm impedance allows you to get the best out of it on high-power amps. The BL factor of 18.38 T-m and the presence of a demodulation ring provide good cone control, particularly in the crossover zones between sub and low-midrange. Despite its power, the loudspeaker remains relatively compact, with a depth of 130 mm and a contained weight of around 8.8 kg.

Designed for compact subwoofers, bass returns or even cardioid subwoofers, the 12BG100 has clearly been cut out to deliver physical, well-maintained bass in a handy format.
