Presentation
In the world of low-frequency loudspeakers, the B&C Speakers 12BG76 8 Ohm stands out for its hybrid approach between raw power and optimized mechanical control.
Its 76 mm copper voice coil, coupled with a high-density neodymium magnet, guarantees efficient electroacoustic conversion, limiting losses while maintaining a controlled linear excursion.
This 12-inch transducer is based on a reinforced radial cone, treated against humidity on both sides, in order to ensure increased resistance to climatic variations and intensive stresses.
Mechanical damping is ensured by a roller suspension and a double silicone spider, a technical choice that promotes a rapid return to neutral position and reduces distortion at high excursions.
The optimization of the acoustic load involves a recommended volume of 40 liters, tuned to 42 Hz, which allows to fully exploit the frequency response of the loudspeaker, located between 45 Hz and 1 kHz. Its 9.5 mm Xmax offers an interesting dynamic reserve, especially for bass-reflex loads, where the significant excursion guarantees a clean restitution of transients without loss of intelligibility.
Its Qts of 0.41 and its resonance frequency of 44 Hz make it a relevant choice for configurations where the articulation of the low-midrange is as crucial as the extension in the low frequencies. Intended for compact loads and designs where efficiency must be optimized without compromising linearity, this 5.3 kg model combines structural rigidity and reactivity.
