Boss - VE-22
The VE-22, a portable multi-effects unit designed specifically for singers, was introduced by Boss at the 2024 NAMM Show. It lets you transform your voice with an extensive library of high-quality effects, from basic studio enhancement to dramatic voice-changing effects. Extend your range with real-time harmonies. And create with the smooth interface and versatile features for practicing, recording and online streaming. With the VE-22 in your set-up, you're ready to deliver memorable, impactful vocal performances wherever you sing.
Presentation
The VE-22's powerful harmony and doubling functions allow you to create breathtaking ensemble effects from a single voice. Simply select a type, set the key of the song and start singing. It's easy to change harmony voicing, adjust levels and more using the panel buttons. You can also assign harmonies to an on-board switch and move them in and out as required during the performance.
Boss has given it a simple interface that encourages you to create your own live vocal sound. The Harmony, Effect and Echo sections feature multi-function buttons that let you change higher-level parameters, deactivate a section with a click or access deeper parameters with a double-click. And thanks to the colour display and illuminated rings around the buttons, you always have a clear view of what's going on. Three customisable switches are designed for hand or foot control, and you can connect an expression pedal or external pedals for extra control if required.
The VE-22 gives you everything you need to deliver high-quality sound to a home PA system, stage amplifier or recorder. It has an XLR input and a built-in preamp for a professional stage microphone, plus phantom power for high-end condenser types. A high/low gain switch, rear sensitivity knob and level meter let you optimise the input signal for almost any microphone. A compressor, EQ, de-esser and other studio essentials are also available to support every performance with smooth, authoritative sound.
With USB-C, an auxiliary analogue input and a headphone jack, the VE-22 supports everyday vocal activities, from daily practice to recording to live streaming on social networks. Connect to a computer or mobile device and send mix-ready vocals directly to music production software and streaming applications. Or play background music through the VE-22 and sing along with inspiring sound to warm up for gigs, learn new songs and perform.
