John Lennon, co-founder of the Beatles, was much more than a musician. A conceptual artist and committed pacifist, his fierce militancy against the Vietnam War led the US government to try to deport him, keeping him under surveillance for years. After the Beatles, his fusional and creative relationship with Yoko Ono redefined performance art (such as the famous "Bed-In for Peace"). Ironically, the author of "Imagine" was also a complex and contradictory man, with notorious excesses and a sometimes dark temperament. His life was brutally cut short in New York in 1980, forever transforming the icon into a legend.
