Daslight - Light Rider LR512 MKIII
Daslight’s Light Rider LR512 MKIII wireless DMX control interface combines live operation with standalone programming. Its 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 connectivity ensures communication suited to modern lighting systems, with an architecture suitable for DJs, live performances and architectural installations alike. Daslight’s Light Rider LR512 MKIII is a wireless DMX interface designed to control a lighting setup from a tablet, featuring a 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 connection and an architecture engineered to remain responsive in high-traffic environments. Its ecosystem combines the Light Rider app with DMX devices and third-generation ESA software, covering both live control and standalone programming, with an approach that gives complicated control consoles a well-deserved break.
Presentation
Daslight has designed it to control a lighting rig from a tablet or PC. Its dedicated processor provides a technical foundation suited to controlling both mobile and fixed lighting, with a design focused on controlling DMX devices. A 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 connection ensures communication with compatible applications and reduces the constraints associated with wired data connections. Bluetooth completes the set of features.
For live control, 512 DMX channels are available, with the option to extend this to 1,024 channels depending on the chosen configuration. A second capacity of 512 channels for standalone operation allows live control to be separated from pre-recorded scenes and the interface to be adapted to lighting setups of different sizes. The integrated processing thus maintains two distinct operating modes within a single unit.
The third-generation ESA software, available free of charge for Mac and Windows, enables these scenes to be prepared for live performances or architectural lighting, with a workflow tailored to installations that need to replay defined sequences without a computer being permanently connected. This capability provides a clear separation between preparation on a computer and standalone execution on site.
The Light Rider app runs on iPad and Android and draws on a library of over 20,000 DMX fixture profiles, making it easy to manage a diverse lighting rig. This extensive range covers stage projectors, effect lights and motorised fixtures, with management centralised within an interface designed for visual control.
SUT technology also extends compatibility with other software from the Nicolaudie Group via a licence upgrade, enabling the system to be integrated into a broader software environment.
Daslight provides Light Rider with a library of over 20,000 fixture profiles, making it easy to support a wide range of DMX fixtures. Dedicated controls for movement, colour, special effects and flashes also structure the creative process, with settings for speed, fade, size, spacing and phase shift.
Music synchronisation allows lighting effects to be adapted to the audio content using Pulse analysis, manual BPM adjustment or Ableton Link. Several synchronisation modes can thus be used for DJ set-ups, with an Auto Mood feature capable of adjusting the atmosphere across three intensity levels, without the need for scene-by-scene programming.
