DBX - ZC-BOB

The DBX ZC-BOB is a distribution box designed for installations using ZC series wall-mounted controllers with DriveRack and ZonePRO audio processors. Its purpose is to simplify the cabling of multiple controllers by enabling them to be connected in a parallel architecture, also known as a ‘Home Run’ configuration.

The unit features several RJ45 connections, allowing up to six ZC controllers to be connected individually. The various connections are then consolidated by the ZC-BOB before being routed to the relevant DriveRack or ZonePRO processor. This arrangement enables commands to be distributed to different zones within an installation whilst maintaining a structured and easily identifiable cabling system.

The use of parallel cabling is particularly advantageous in fixed installations or buildings where controllers need to be positioned in different locations. Each controller can thus be connected directly to the distribution point without having to route all commands through a series of controllers connected in series.

With a parallel installation using CAT5 or CAT5E cable, the system can operate over a total distance of up to approximately 305 metres. The cable must have a nominal DC resistance of 28.6 Ω over 305 metres and be certified to VW-1 or higher.
