Digitech - DOD Badder Monkey

The DigiTech DOD Badder Monkey pedal is for guitarists who want an expressive, easy-to-model overdrive. It features the original Bad Monkey circuit, revisited to offer more nuance and sonic possibilities. The Bananas control lets you adjust the gain, from a light crunch to a denser, more nervous saturation. The Curiosity control acts on the output volume to adapt the pedal to a clean boost or a real drive section.

The Mood control includes separate EQ with Grunt for bass and Screech for midrange and treble. The Barrel rotary selector lets you choose or mix Behaved, Bad and Badder circuits over 360 degrees. This approach allows you to go from a quiet overdrive to a dirtier, compressed grain, or to combine the two. The miniature switch allows operation in Troop Mode, where the three circuits are combined simultaneously.

Flipped Phase mode alters the phase of the Bad circuit to create frequency dips and unconventional textures. The true bypass footswitch keeps the signal intact when the pedal is switched off. The LED indicates the status of the pedal and the position of the selected mode using a clear colour code.

The double-sided StagePlate includes a non-slip surface or a scratch-type covering for the pedalboard. Power is supplied via a 9 V DC negative centre adapter (not included). The aluminium casing keeps the weight down while remaining robust. This pedal lets you carve out your own personal overdrive, from hard blues to hard rock, with no need for unnecessary adjustments.
