Presentation
Based on a circuit featuring two dual op-amps designed by Bob Myer in the late 1970s, the ELECTRO HARMONIX Big Muff PI 2 builds on the foundation of the Big Muff Pi, offering a fuzz response and texture all of its own. Its sustain and gain levels allow you to range from a moderate tone to an intense fuzz sound via the Sustain control.
The Tone control adjusts the tonal balance by boosting the treble and cutting the bass when turned up, whilst the Volume control sets the overall output level. The analogue circuit delivers a mono sound, with crisp highs, massive lows and a less refined clipping character.
The silent true bypass footswitch offers two operating modes: classic on/off operation or momentary action by holding down the switch. Compact in design, the pedal features a die-cast metal ‘nano’ enclosure, with artwork by Daniel Danger. It runs on an included 9 V battery or an optional external power supply to power the pedal without using the battery.
