Earthworks Audio - DK7 Gen2

The Earthworks Audio DK7 Gen2 is a premium microphone kit designed for complete acoustic drum miking. This second-generation kit retains the qualities for which the DK7 is renowned, while improving the robustness, ease of installation and overall performance of the microphones. The kit includes seven microphones specially adapted to the different parts of the kit: bass drum, toms, snare drum and overheads.

The system is based on four DM20 Gen2 gooseneck microphones for the toms and snare, two SR25 Gen2 for the overheads and a DM6 dedicated to the bass drum. Together they provide a coherent image of the drums, with excellent separation of the elements, very fast transient response and particularly faithful reproduction of cymbals, attacks and nuances of play.

The new generation also benefits from revised electronics requiring less phantom current and incorporating protection against accidental 'hot-swap' connections. Earthworks has also developed a new hoop mounting system that's quicker to install and compatible with a wider range of drum configurations.

Thanks to their very high SPL level, the DK7 Gen2 microphones easily handle high dynamics without saturation, while retaining great accuracy of detail. This kit is ideal for live recordings, studio recordings, music videos, streaming or productions requiring a natural, detailed drum sound.

It all comes in a new, more compact and robust SKB case for easy transport and touring.
