The Shure SM7B is a large-capsule dynamic microphone with a smooth, flat, broadband frequency response that enhances the midrange and high frequencies associated with the human voice. This is why the SM7B comes out particularly well on spoken and sung voices in many professional audio applications.
The Shure SM7 B features a cardioid pick-up pattern, bass roll-off and midrange boost (presence amplification), and shielding that makes it immune to electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones, computers and other electrical devices.
The capsule of the Shure SM7B is uncoupled by an internal suspension, which eliminates the transmission of mechanical and handling noise. A pop filter is also built into the SM7B to suppress breath noise when recording at close range.
