From the first glance, the Elipson Planet L Performance Matt White Gold seduces with its singular appearance: a satin matt white, enhanced by a gold grille with metallic accents. This meticulous, almost sculptural aesthetic is not there for show. It's for anyone who wants to combine design and sound performance in a refined hi-fi or home cinema installation.
But it's in the technical details that this compact two-way speaker really comes into its own. Its coaxial driver incorporates a 165 mm bass-midrange with a cellulose pulp membrane, treated to limit parasitic vibrations, and a 25 mm silk dome tweeter, also carefully optimised. This duo, powered by a Neodymium magnet, produces sound of impressive clarity, capable of reaching 20 kHz with disconcerting ease.
Compared with the classic Planet L, this Performance version goes one step further: better decoupling, a double-ring DAR® suspension that ensures firmer control, even at high volume, and a finer bass response thanks to a bass-reflex tuning set at 50 Hz. The result is a loudspeaker that can be gentle or powerful, depending on the music, without ever betraying the artist's intention.
