Elysia - Alpha compressor

The Alpha Compressor incorporates a fantastic M/S matrix whose main advantage lies in the ability to process the centre of signals separately, independently of the sides (L and R). This makes it possible to increase the presence of elements located on the sides of a stereo mix, or to compress a certain frequency band without affecting the centre, and vice versa.

The Feed Forward & Feedback function reverses the junction of the Sidechain between the rear (Feedback) and front (Feed Forward) of the compression section. This can drastically change the character of the compressor. You can go from an impression of smoothness and regularity to a harder, more aggressive sound.

A built-in audio filter on the Alpha Compressor allows you to alter the proportions between bass and treble around a pivot frequency. Frequencies above the pivot can be increased by up to +3dB, while frequencies below the pivot are attenuated by up to 5dB.

The direct signal and the compressed signal can be mixed together using a simple pot on the front panel.

The alpha compressor benefits exclusively from notched pots with conductive plastic. The 23 notches ensure great precision and easy recalls, whatever the application.
