Presentation
The Flying V is an icon. This Epiphone 1958 Korina takes its DNA with respect. Solid korina body, glued korina neck for good vibration transmission. Lightweight, resonant and alive as soon as your fingers touch it.
The neck has a typical Flying V 58 profile: chunky and playful. 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius Indian laurel fingerboard for immediate comfort. Gibson standard 24.75" scale, Graph Tech 43 mm saddle: everything is designed to glide and unfurl riffs without unnecessary resistance.
As for the pickups, we've got the big guns. Burstbucker 2 neck and Burstbucker 3 bridge deliver a marked vintage character. Fat, warm and clear when you turn down the volume: bluesy clean or big stoner riff, anything goes. CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors guarantee immediate, natural response to finger and pot.
The controls are classic: two volumes, two tones, 3-position selector. Plug & play, and supplied in a hard case - a real bonus for protecting an iconic Flying V.
To do it justice, the Marshall DSL5C takes centre stage. All-tube combo, 5 watts (reducible to 1 watt), 10" Ten-30 Celestion driver. Two channels - Classic Gain and Ultra Gain - for clean, crunch or harmonic lead. Each channel has its own independent volume and gain, 3-band EQ with tone shift to sculpt the midrange, built-in digital reverb, effects loop, Softube emulated line output for playing or recording with headphones.
The included footswitch lets you change channels or mute the reverb on the foot, and the 3-metre jack cable (6.35 mm mono plugs, 1.5 mm² cross-section, heavy-duty jacket) connects the instrument to the amp with no loss of signal and no surprises.
This pack is aimed at guitarists looking for a vintage sound with response, an iconic look and a serious configuration. It makes you want to play longer, just to make a bend scream or hear the korina resonate after a fat power chord.
Mythical guitar, edgy amp and reliable connectors: this pack is a trio ready to play as soon as you open the box.
