Focal - On Wall 301 Black Satin

The Focal On Wall 301 immediately establishes a balanced and precise acoustic presence: its frequency response extends from 53 Hz to 28 kHz, with a bass extension measured at 44 Hz, covering most of the musical spectrum with a timbral continuity that we expect from meticulous French manufacture. The speaker's sensitivity of 87dB places it in a register that requires a careful amplifier, but the power handling range of 25 to 130W gives it real versatility, from small hi-fi integrated amplifiers to moderately powerful home cinema processors. The nominal impedance of 8 Ω, with a floor measured at 5.5 Ω, provides a stable and predictable load for the output stage.

The 2-way construction is based on a combination of transducers designed for tonal accuracy in a compact wall-mount format. The two 100 mm Flax diaphragms - natural flax fibres woven between two composite skins - reproduce the mid-bass with an organic warmth characteristic of this material: low moving mass, high rigidity, natural internal damping. The 25mm TNF tweeter extends the treble up to 28kHz with crystalline precision, ensuring a coherent soundstage throughout the entire band. The whole unit is housed in a 155 × 800 × 90 mm cabinet weighing just 5.9 kg, finished in satin black and assembled in France.

Designed for both home hi-fi and home cinema configurations in confined spaces, the On Wall 301 takes advantage of its 80 cm height for discreet installation along a wall without encroaching on the volume of the room. Its compatibility with the On Wall 300 Stand opens up the possibility of using it on a stand if the installation context changes. The magnetic grille supplied as standard can be fitted and removed without tools, protecting the Flax membranes while preserving the panel's sober aesthetic.
