The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue Heavy Aged Lemon Burst is a one-of-a-kind guitar that celebrates the golden age of Les Paul models. Built by the Gibson Custom Shop, it embodies meticulous craftsmanship and historical accuracy that pay homage to the iconic 1958 Les Paul Standard.
Finished in a Heavy Aged finish by the experts at Murphy Lab, this reissue simulates decades of natural wear, delivering a unique look and feel reminiscent of a well-played original instrument.
The guitar’s body combines a two-piece solid maple top, fitted with hide glue, with a one-piece lightweight mahogany back, ensuring rich resonance and exceptional lightness.
The solid mahogany neck features a period-accurate Rounded “C” profile, and the rosewood fingerboard with authentic narrow/tall frets amplifies the tonal character by allowing the wood’s properties to shine through. Aged nitrocellulose trapezoid inlays and Royalite binding add distinctive visual details.
Unwaxed Custom Bucker Alnico 3 pickups accurately capture the legendary vintage sound of the 1950s. They are paired with a control system consisting of dual volume and tone pots, wired with CTS Audio Taper 500K potentiometers and Paper in Oil capacitors for optimal sonic response. A Switchcraft three-way pickup selector switch allows for quick navigation between configurations.
The hardware, including a wireless ABR-1 bridge and lightweight aluminum tailpiece, is also aged to complement the vintage aesthetic. Single-line Kluson tuners ensure impeccable tuning stability. Every detail, from the laminated pickguard to the two-ply truss rod cover, reflects an uncompromising commitment to historical authenticity.
