Presentation
The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Washed Cherry Sunburst is a guitar that embodies the craftsmanship excellence of the Gibson Custom Shop. Inspired by the original 1958, this reissue is a celebration of Gibson’s golden age, designed to capture the legendary look, feel and sound of this iconic model.
The body features a lightweight one-piece mahogany back and a two-piece solid maple top, fitted with hide glue to maximize resonance.
Each top has unique fret patterns, adding a distinct personality to each instrument. The 50s Rounded Medium C neck profile, combined with narrow and tall frets, provides an immersive playing experience, allowing for excellent grip and remarkable bending possibilities.
Unwaxed Custom Bucker Alnico 3 pickups deliver a rich, dynamic vintage tone that’s perfect for capturing the sonic character of the ’50s. Controls include two volume and two tone knobs, wired to Paper-in-Oil capacitors and 500K CTS potentiometers, for unmatched precision and tonal versatility.
The Switchcraft three-way pickup selector switch allows for easy navigation between the neck, bridge, or both pickups.
The ABR-1 wireless bridge and lightweight aluminum tailpiece ensure perfect intonation and extended sustain. True-to-the-’50s Kluson single-frame tuners provide precise, reliable tuning. The Murphy Lab VOS Nitrocellulose finish accentuates the subtle aging, giving this guitar the look and feel of an instrument that’s stood the test of time.
The guitar is packaged in a five-saddle Lifton reissue case, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and historic accessories. This reissue is a collector's item that not only pays homage to the original, but resurrects it for modern musicians seeking sonic and aesthetic authenticity.
