Presentation
The Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Hummingbird Fixed Bridge Heritage Cherry Sunburst is a faithful reinterpretation of one of the most iconic acoustic guitars in history. Inspired by the original 1960 model, this square-shouldered guitar combines tradition and modernity to recreate the vintage look and sound that has influenced generations of players.
Featuring a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, this guitar delivers the richness of tone and harmonic complexity worthy of an antique instrument. The mahogany body complements this combination to produce warm lows, balanced mids and clear highs, perfect for a variety of styles, from fingerpicking to rhythmic chords. Traditional hand-carved X-bracing ensures optimum resonance and powerful projection.
The mahogany neck with a Rounded profile is designed for exceptional playing comfort. Topped with a smooth rosewood fingerboard adorned with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, it offers a smooth and precise fretting experience. The traditional reverse bridge, made of bone, ensures perfect string stability and optimal vibration transmission.
On the aesthetic side, the Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish and hand-applied nitrocellulose varnish give the guitar an elegant and timeless look. The cast pickguard, adorned with the iconic Hummingbird motif, further reinforces the unique visual identity of this instrument.
Gotoh Keystone tuners ensure impeccable tuning stability, while bone nut and pegs add premium touches.
Every detail, from the Hummingbird-engraved truss rod cover to the included vintage case, reflects Gibson's commitment to authenticity and quality craftsmanship. This Gibson 1960 Hummingbird Fixed Bridge is more than just a guitar: it’s a tribute to a legendary era, combining style, history and sonic excellence.
