Gibson - J-45 Standard Goldtop

Since its introduction in 1942, the J-45 has held a central place in Gibson’s family of round-shouldered dreadnoughts. The Gibson J-45 Standard Goldtop carries on this tradition with a body combining a solid Sitka spruce top with a solid mahogany back and sides. Its high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, multi-strip binding on the top and tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard create an aesthetic true to the original model.

Designed to offer a comfortable playing experience, this electro-acoustic acoustic guitar features a mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile and a rosewood fingerboard with 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The dovetail joint, secured with hot hide glue, connects the neck to the body. The 24.75-inch scale length and 12-inch fingerboard radius complete its specifications.

For amplified play, the Baggs HiFi DNA system incorporates two lightweight pickups mounted on the bridge’s internal plate, each paired with its own optimised preamp. This design produces a natural, rich amplified sound whilst preserving the instrument’s acoustic character. The controls, discreetly fitted into the soundhole, allow for quick adjustment of volume and tone.

Finally, the rosewood Belly Up bridge features a TUSQ nut and pegs, whilst Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure accurate tuning. Supplied with a hard case, it is suitable for both stage and studio use.
