Gibson - J-45 Standard Heritage Cherry Sunburst

Introduced in 1942, the J-45 is described by Gibson as its most recorded and best-selling acoustic model. The Gibson J-45 Standard Heritage Cherry Sunburst is part of this legacy, featuring a round-shouldered dreadnought body built around a Sitka spruce top and a mahogany back and sides. Its gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, multi-strip binding on the top and teardrop-shaped tortoiseshell pickguard enhance its visual identity.

For the guitarist, the mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile offers a comfortable grip. The rosewood fingerboard features 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The dovetail joint, assembled using hot hide glue, connects the neck to the body. With a scale length of 24.75 inches and a fingerboard radius of 12 inches, this configuration completes the instrument’s ergonomics.

Whether on stage or in the studio, the Baggs HiFi DNA system provides a built-in amplification solution. Two lightweight pickups are fitted to the bridge’s internal plate, each with its own optimised preamp. The system produces a natural, rich amplified sound, whilst retaining the guitar’s acoustic character.

The discreet volume and tone controls, positioned in the soundhole, allow for quick adjustments. The rosewood Belly Up bridge features a TUSQ nut and saddles, along with Grover Rotomatic tuners and nickel hardware. The included hard case provides a complete package suitable for both the stage and the studio.
