Presentation
The Hiwatt Park P18 Combo is a unique tube amplifier that merges two legendary circuits: the Marshall 18™ 1974 series and the WEM Dominator™.
With Mitch Colby's improvements, the amp now offers the ability to switch to High Gain mode by cascading the channels, and to play at different power levels - 18, 7, 1 or 0.5 watts - while maintaining studio quality sound. As Mitch points out, "Most amps at low volume sound nasal, but not the Park 18, even in 0.5 Watt mode."
At the heart of this amp are EL84 power tubes, backed up by 3 12AX7 preamp tubes, which deliver a saturated, warm and accurate sound. Its tremolo circuit on channel 2, with speed and intensity controls, is footswitch-activated, offering dynamic nuances perfect for playing in the studio or on stage. Each channel has its own volume and tone controls, and the Cascade switch lets you combine the two channels for more aggressive gain.
The Celestion 12" Greenback driver, mounted in a closed straight baffle, faithfully reproduces clean tones and softens crunches, while preserving the amp's rock character.
Two speaker outputs allow you to connect an external cabinet, with impedance selectable on the rear panel between 8 and 16 Ω. Its compact, lightweight top-mount chassis incorporates a UK built output transformer, a clone of the famous Radio Spares EL84, guaranteeing a sound faithful to vintage standards.
Compact and designed for guitarists who want an authentic vintage sound, the Park P18C lets you play at any volume without ever losing tone. Its meticulous construction, classic black Tolex and top-mount design make it both an elegant and high-performance amp, capable of adapting to the stage as well as the studio. This model remains a benchmark for all fans of small tube combos capable of delivering high-powered sound.

Jim Marshall is best known for running a shop where local musicians could meet, swap and try out equipment. He sold his amps worldwide under the Marshall brand, but in the UK he used the name Park Amplifiers. The shop served as a valuable testing ground for new products and kept Jim in touch with the exploding UK music scene. Park amps, often described as 'a bit hotter', are highly sought after in the UK as they are much rarer than their Marshall-branded equivalents.
Mitch Colby has devoted his life to working with Marshall Amplification and has spent a dozen years perfecting the Park range. He's taken the best existing circuits and painstakingly recreated the original sounds and tonal signature of Jim's early days. In addition, Mitch has designed four new amplifiers to continue the spirit and incredible legacy of Jim Marshall and the Park Amplifiers.
