Combining precise bass control, rapid deployment and simplified integration, the HK Audio Portable Sub 115 XA powered subwoofer features a bass-reflex design, Class D amplification and a 15" driver, all in a compact design, ideal for mobile set-ups. Its DSP processing ensures clear reproduction of low frequencies, with a response extending down to 38 Hz depending on the setting. Several presets facilitate integration with various compatible speaker series and allow the system’s behaviour to be quickly adapted.
Presentation
The Portable Sub 115 XA features digital signal processing (DSP) dedicated to optimising acoustic behaviour and impulse response. This simplified setup reduces the need for adjustments and ensures seamless integration with various systems recommended by the manufacturer.
Manufactured in Germany, it features amplification reaching 1,400 W peak, with a Class D architecture designed to efficiently manage the system’s power requirements. The system achieves a maximum peak SPL of 129 dB, ensuring consistent sound reproduction as the volume increases.
The crossover, which varies depending on the preset used, facilitates integration with various compatible loudspeaker arrays. The Lunar, Sonar, Polar and LPF 100 Hz presets provide several integration options tailored to the relevant series. This selection affects the crossover behaviour and simplifies the overall consistency of the system.
The construction is based on a wooden cabinet designed to withstand the stresses associated with frequent movement. The MultiGrip handles facilitate handling and improve grip during transport.
