Within its Creator series, IK Multimedia offers the iRig Mic Cast HD, a smartphone microphone specially designed for content creators.

The Italian manufacturer designed this model to be small, light and easy to install whenever you need it! You will have no trouble carrying it everywhere with you and using it on your phone, even without a stand. It comes with magnetic plates intended for the simplest attachment to a smartphone or tablet – with or without a case – in portrait or landscape mode.

Designed to meet the specific needs of content creators, this product offers three selectable polar patterns for your recording: front, rear or bi-directional. The front and rear polar patterns are cardioid, ideal for making a vlog or filming a subject. For two-way audio capture, perfect for an interview, the polar diagram features a figure 8.

To provide quality recording, regardless of the directionality chosen, the iRig Mic Cast HD condenser microphone has two 0.55” gold-sputtered diaphragms. These offer excellent precision over a wide frequency range – 40 Hz to 20 kHz –, but also reduction of off-axis noise. A 24-bit/96 kHz conversion ensures professional quality sound recording.

As for the connectivity of this small device, it includes a 3.5 mm mini-Jack headphone output and a micro-USB output to connect it to your computer or mobile phone.

Always with the aim of allowing you to ensure the quality of your recording in real time, an LED indicator indicates the operating status and sound level of the microphone. On the sides, you will have access, on the one hand, to an On/Off selector for monitoring the live signal via the headphone output and, on the other hand, to the gain adjustment buttons over a range of 48 dB.
