Michel Lâg-Chavarria, master violin maker and founder of Lag guitars set up the crazy project to create and produce high-end guitars in Toulouse, in southwest France, a city known for its artists and its active music scene.
He first opened a repair shop dedicated to all stringed instruments. This store was first brought her knowledge and experience, as well as numerous customers from all walks of life through the manufacture of bespoke guitars.
Then, with the help of many musician friends, who participated in the construction of the image of Lag guitars on stage and in the studio, he presented his first creations to guitar dealers and musicians, first in France then in Europe, and this successfully.
The workshop "Lâg Haute Couture" is now located in Bédarieux, in beautiful South East region of France, near the Mediterranean, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees.
With the help of talented designers and experienced technicians, the brand philosophy has always been to avoid clichés guitar at exorbitant prices and the agreed design, to bring sophistication and style to the world of guitar.
In 2002 the meeting with Gérard Garnier, President of ALGAM Group, the largest distributor of musical instruments in France was a big step in the creative and international evolution of the brand.
