Let's talk pickups: the two P90 VP5s, set up in single/single configuration, provide a wide enough palette to juggle biting riffs, crystalline arpeggios and midrange-pounding solos. You've got a 5-position selector, rare on a 2-pickup guitar, and a push/pull focus switch that compresses the signal a little and tightens the bass for extra punch. In other words, you've got everything from rough blues to saturated rock, not to mention finer textures as soon as you ease up on the right hand.
And because Yamaha likes to pay attention to detail, the Revstar Standard RSS02T comes with a Tune-O-Matic bridge with aluminium racing tailpiece, to ensure stability and tuning precision, even after a long set.
