The S7's fingerboard edges are slightly rounded, as is usually the case on high-end basses, to improve the feel of the neck in the hand and make it easier to play.
It is fitted with a humbucking pickup in the bridge and single coils in the centre and neck to bring out the sophisticated tonal variety that Larry Carlton is looking for.
