The M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49 isn't here to decorate your desk: it wants pads hit, pots turned, chords strung. With 49 velocity-sensitive keys, 16 RGB pads, and modulation and pitch wheels, it turns your fingers into a MIDI conductor. Automatic integration with leading DAWs, instant control mapping and Smart Scale and Smart Chord modes ease harmonic anxieties and speed up the creative process.
Need an arpeggiator? A note repeater? A sustain pedal? He ticks all the boxes, without making a face. Better still, he also speaks MIDI, so he's just as at home in a software studio as he is in front of a rack of vintage synths.
When it comes to software, M-Audio is not shy. Ableton Live Lite for laying down ideas, MPC Beats for deconstructing them like a jigsaw puzzle, Hybrid 3 or Vacuum for making oscillators roar... and a whole host of expansions to flatter your Lo-Fi, Deep House, TrapSoul or Urban leanings. Not forgetting the MIDI editor for customising your workflow down to the last byte. The whole thing installs quickly, works well, and leaves you more time to question your artistic choices - or to embrace them wholeheartedly, that works too.
