Designed for FL Studio users, the Novation FLKey 2 61 + Image Line FL Studio Producer Edition licence bundle combines a 61-key MIDI master keyboard with a full software licence for producing, composing and controlling your projects.
The Novation FLKey 2 61 features a 61-key semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keyboard, velocity-sensitive RGB pads with polyphonic aftertouch, 8 continuous rotary encoders, 9 faders, an OLED display, and pitch bend and modulation wheels. Scale, Fixed Chord and Chord Maps modes, along with the arpeggiator, make music creation easier, whilst transport and mixing controls allow you to directly adjust levels, filters and effects in FL Studio.
Compatible with Windows, macOS and iOS, it supports the Mackie HUI protocol, Native Kontrol Standard compatibility and the Novation Components software. Its connectivity includes a USB-C port, a 5-pin DIN MIDI output, a 6.35 mm jack input for a sustain pedal and a Kensington security slot.
The pack also includes a downloadable licence for FL Studio Producer Edition, with the registration code sent by email along with the invoice. This version offers 28 instruments, 50 effects, a virtual mixer with 100 stereo tracks, a piano roll with chords and slides, a step sequencer, unlimited instrument channels, automation recording and editing, as well as support for ASIO, VST2, VST3 and DX drivers. The 6-month subscription to FL Studio Producer Edition is included with the keyboard, providing a full-featured DAW designed for recording, sequencing and mixing. The built-in library also features a wide range of virtual instruments, samples and effects that are ready to use straight away.
The GForce Bass Station, Oberheim SEM, OB-EZ and AXXESS instruments add several virtual synths inspired by iconic analogue machines. Thick basslines, polyphonic pads and modulated textures easily enrich electronic, synthwave or hip-hop productions. Some presets seemed almost determined to transform every melodic line into a slightly unsettling nocturnal soundtrack.
With Orchestral Tools Parallel Orchestra, you can enjoy an orchestral collection blending acoustic instruments with modern sound design. Strings, percussion, ambient textures and full ensembles add greater depth to arrangements and atmospheric compositions.
The Native Instruments Komplete Select bundle offers a range of instruments and effects suited to various musical styles. Massive X, Battery and various audio processors make it easy to create electronic rhythms, modern textures or more beatmaking-oriented productions, without the need for complex set-ups in the DAW.
The Klevgrand LUXE and Slammer plug-ins effectively complement the audio tools included with the Novation FLkey 2. LUXE handles compression and sound saturation, whilst Slammer brings together several multi-sampled rhythm kits focused on modern drums and percussion.
Novation Play provides access to a sound library directly tailored to the master keyboard’s controls. Basses, leads, pads and rhythm kits can be used straight away with the controller’s encoders and pads. Some particularly aggressive presets even tended to render any reasonable notion of volume levels obsolete after just three minutes of use.
Melodics provides interactive lessons dedicated to the keyboard and pads. The progressive exercises allow you to explore finger drumming, rhythm and playing techniques within a clear interface that’s quick to get to grips with.
