Marcus Miller joined the Saturday Night Live band in the early 1980s as a musician. This weekly experience imposed an intense rhythm on him, forcing him to play a variety of styles live. It was here that he developed his musical reactivity and ability to adapt quickly. Working in this television context also gave him the opportunity to collaborate with numerous guest artists. This was a decisive period in his professional development, reinforcing his ease on stage and his versatility, two qualities that would remain central to his entire international career thereafter.
