Folk Guitar
With the D-16E Rosewood, Martin has created an electro-acoustic folk guitar that combines sonic breadth and playing comfort in a format designed to last. The Dreadnought body shape, softened by Auditorium-inspired ergonomics, naturally follows the body, releasing a full, controlled and expressive projection. The satin-finish solid spruce top breathes freely, allowing each chord to settle elegantly. Whether plugged in or acoustic, this feminine guitar has a sober, racy look, ready to follow your playing without ever stealing the limelight, like a discreet but terribly inspiring partner.

Presentation
The D-16E Rosewood is built in the American workshops of Martin & Co in Nazareth, where every assembly is designed for precision and vibratory coherence. The glued neck with Dovetail joint ensures smooth energy transmission, giving an even response across the entire length of the scale. This construction provides a stable feel under the fingers, ideal for setting up your playing with confidence.
Thanks to its solid Sitka spruce top and scalloped Forward-Shifted bracing, this guitar develops generous dynamics, with deep bass and a strong midrange. The rosewood back and sides enhance the harmonic richness of the sound and extend the notes naturally. Each attack is given greater depth, enhancing both open chord playing and more nuanced arpeggios.
The Modified Low Oval neck profile with High Performance Taper provides a natural grip for long hours of playing. The ebony fingerboard, combined with a comfortable radius, facilitates precise progressions and quick movements. The ergonomic design supports both rhythmic playing and more delicate passages, with a pleasant sense of continuity.
The integrated E1 Martin electronics provide immediate signal control when you plug the guitar into an amp or audio interface. Volume, tone and phase controls let you quickly adjust the sound balance to suit the scene or room. The built-in chromatic tuner makes it easy to make adjustments between songs, without the need for additional accessories. This configuration supports a fluid approach to live performance, where technique remains at the service of interpretation and playing pleasure.
The aesthetic details contribute fully to the typical Martin identity of the D-16E Rosewood, with its Herringbone rosette, mother-of-pearl markings and nickel hardware. The satin finish reduces stickiness and highlights the wood grain in the light. Supplied in a gig bag, the guitar is easy to transport while remaining protected. The result is a balanced relationship between instrument and player, where touch and sight play as important a role as sound.
