Sometimes innovation is in the detail, and that's certainly how Martin has redesigned its D-28. After nearly a century of loyal service, including the sublimation of legendary songs by legendary artists, the famous D-28 has been lovingly and cleverly improved.
The post-World War II D-28 has been slightly modified in design, and has become the centrepiece of the folk and rock & folk movements of the 50s and 60s.
The new D-28 blends the rich history of this guitar with Martin's newest and most extensive innovations. This guitar combines vintage features like open gear tuners, an "Aging Toner" top finish, a tortoise-style pickguard and a new neck profile for a modern feel and comfortable playability, with top bracing that reduces stress on the soundboard for more power and amplitude. The legend, even better!
