Presentation
The Martin O'ahu K-42 Hibiscus from Martin & Co is a guitar with a unique story to tell. Inspired by the historic Kealakai format, it revisits this tradition with a bold, modern approach. Its 12-fret K body, combined for the first time with a 14-fret neck, provides extra projection and clarity, while retaining the depth of sound that marked the origins of the dreadnought.
Constructed with a back and sides of figured koa with large flames, it is as seductive for its aesthetics as for its harmonic richness. The recycled Sitka spruce top, used exceptionally in Martin's history, lends a unique sonic personality and an appreciable ecological dimension. The Golden Era scalloped X-bracing ensures a dynamic response and balanced resonance, ideal for accompanying a variety of playing styles.
The visual details are just as remarkable: finely worked hibiscus inlays, Madagascar rosewood binding, golden Waverly tuners with Liquidmetal axles and abalone inlays. Each element contributes to a refined and distinctive look.
Produced in a limited edition of just 100 worldwide, the K-42 Hibiscus comes with a hard case, ready to accompany musicians on their adventures. It embodies a meeting of heritage, innovation and craftsmanship, offering guitarists a rare guitar that combines style, comfort and sonic character.
